United States President Barack Obama will give the annual commencement speech at Rutgers University as part of the University celebrating being found 250 years ago.
In one of his final Commencement speeches, Barack Obama, President of the United States, will be giving the commencement speech to the students of Rutgers University. This marks the first time a United States president has given the commencement speech at the university. The University will be celebrating its 250th anniversary after being founded in 1766.
The Commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. in High Point Solutions Stadium at Rutgers University–New Brunswick on the Busch Campus in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Tickets for the Event are available through a lottery system that only graduating students can sign up for.On May 9, the University selected names at random from the pool of all Rutgers University–New Brunswick and RBHS students who previously registered for tickets. The Athletics ticket office will notify those randomly selected individuals that they are eligible for one additional ticket. Graduating students and their guests must show valid photo identification to enter High Point Solutions Stadium for University Commencement.
With the amount of people signing up, there are alternate ways to watch the commencement.
Rutgers University Commencement will be streamed live on this website, starting at 12:30 p.m. on May 15. Students at the New Brunswick campus can watch the ceremony from indoor viewing rooms in the Busch Student Center, Livingston Student Center, or College Avenue Student Center. Guests will enjoy a live stream of University Commencement and the School of Arts and Sciences Convocation in the comfort of air conditioning and cushioned seats, and remain out of the sun and weather. Convenience stores, concessions, and restrooms will be open. No tickets are required and seating is general admission.
